Experience

Standard

Neither of the candidates are experienced enough to be President of the United States of America.  It’s a job different from any other and the only way to be experienced enough to do it is to have already done it.  However, we have asinine term limits here in America, which means the only person in the world right now that is both eligible and experienced enough to be President is George H. W. Bush.  So enough with the experience cracks everyone.  You’re right, Obama’s not experienced enough.  Palin’s not experienced enough.  Mccain’s not experienced enough.  Biden’s not experienced enough.  Minimal time in the Senate does not make you experienced enough to be President, which is an entirely different job.  Maximum time spent in the Senate does not make you experienced enough to be President, which is an entirely different job.  The only thing it does is mean that you have spent more time sitting and listening to people talk than a good portion of Americans, and that you have some inkling of what is involved in the day to day decisions of the job.  However, you’re still not experienced enough to be President.

  1. I see the role of executive as one of CEO. It is his/her job to surround themselves with thos of a particular expertise — then listen. It is about managing the role. Experience is overrated. Who has experience at be the man of a powerful nation?
